The hand brake valve is designed as a direct operated 3-way pressure reducing valve and is designed for use in spring loaded braking systems. The flow from S to B is opened in the home position, which opens the spring-loaded accumulator braking system. Actuating the hand lever reduces pressure in direct proportion to the degree and speed at which the lever is pulled. This engages the spring-loaded accumulator braking system.
